CDL reimbursement, Ohio Workforce Development Board: Since the State of Ohio changed some of the requirements concerning Commercial Drivers Licenses, it has become a challenge to find affordable ways to train our employees. All communities across the state are dealing with this issue. Through the Ohio Workforce Development Board and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, opportunities are provided for workers and employers to develop and sustain a quality workforce. We have been approved to send an employee for CDL training at a state-approved training program at Northwest State Community College. Luke Gary will be the first employee to attend and is scheduled to begin in February. This grant will reimburse $7,206.60 of the total cost for tuition, wages and mileage which is $10,406.10. Essentially the Village will be contributing the wages and the remaining will be reimbursed for the tuition and mileage.
