On-Call Policy: For all Village Departments, including Police, Electric and Public Works, we request to establish an on-call policy. This policy supersedes all prior negotiations, commitments or agreements. Each department superintendent, with pre-approved signed authorization from the Village Administrator, using the designated on-call authorization form, may place an employee on “on-call” status for up to 60 days per calendar year in their respective departments. On-call “waiting to be engaged” status is not considered work time and thus is not compensable. However, in recognition of the potential inconvenience, employees in this status will be compensated (2) two hours of regular pay at the employees’ current applicable rate of pay, per 24-hour period of on-call status. The full policy will be added to the employee handbook.
- Motion to adopt on-call time policy effective 12.05.2024.
