Town Park Picnic Pavilion: Big C Lumber and Life Changing Church’s Fight Club joined us tonight so that we can show some recognition for the work they did which contributed to the completion of Downtown Park pavilion. Half of the shingles were donated by Big C and many volunteers from LCC Fight Club donated time and labor. Jeremy Wright stated about 6 months ago he reached out to Bob seeking a project that would assist the community. Fight Club is all about fellowship and serving God to the best of their ability. Mayor Day thanked one and all for their help and stated the donations were equivalent to approximately 5-7 thousand dollars.

Ordinance No 1128- Housekeeping:  Budget commission through the county has changed way in which amended certificates are approved and returned. We went through all revenues and expenditures and took a look at where projects are and tried to properly appropriate. All items listed in this Ordinance were determined to the best of our ability. Possible for more appropriations to take place in December, but trying to get the bulk of it taken care of so amended certificate is as clean as possible. It is for an overall decrease to 2023 appropriations. This is a current year appropriation so passes upon approval.

Resolution No 2013-013 – NPP Power Pool: Our municipal electric system is interconnected within First Energy’s transmission system which is operated by PJM. To take advantage of economies of scale for power scheduling, forecasting and short-term energy supply, we are part of aggregated group of 43 municipal members that are interconnected with First Energy called the Northern Power Pool. Earlier this year, we were able to sell power back in to our system during a cold snap where our industries were shut down while other municipalities were not. We were able to offset our power supply bill by approximately $49,000. It is a great resource to have; there have been no changes to overall agreement since 2011. This is an update which has been reviewed by law director and put through John Courtney. This will allow us to have future access to pool resources.

Council Discussion:

Lance Bowsher hopes everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving with family and friends. Take time to appreciate everything you have.

Chuck Wallace – Doing great job keeping up on leaves despite negativity posted online. Fitzcharles followed up that they are going as hard as they can and are taking 8-12 loads a day, which is phenomenal! Great progress.

Gruver appreciated the opportunity to attend “Coffee with Commissioners.” Nice that they were able to institute that program and allow exposure to themselves and what they do.
