Introduction of New Employee, Yvonne Pierce- Dawn Fitzcharles introduced Pierce to Council and welcomed her to the Village as the new Utility Clerk. Pierce stated she was thankful for the opportunity and is looking forward to serving Edgerton again. Council welcomed Yvonne to the team.
Police Capital Budget Discussion with Chief Plotts- Fitzcharles explained that Chief Plotts is fairly new to the Village team as well but was brought up to speed by Interim Chief Matt Krill and Sargent Justin Coffman, to present Police capital budget items for 2022 to Council.

  • Both new cruisers are in and are being dressed with the necessary accessories at Bischoffs
  • Uniform vests for Chief Plotts, also start rotation of vests for other positions; 5-year life before retiring vests
  • MARCS radios- additional units
  • Desks/office furniture for training
  • Duty weapon replacement- unify if worst case scenario happens everyone trained on same weapon, also prevent personal weapon from being destroyed as evidence
  • Sign at TH3 to identify where Police Department is; phone call box to reach dispatch; light up parking lot at TH3

Chuck Wallace asked if Plotts was aware there is a training room fully furnished with tables and chairs? Gary will look into it.

Administrator Update by Dawn Fitzcharles:

  • Laubach Drive Project has been put on hold
  • Finance Committee Meeting tomorrow- Wednesday, November 17 @ 5:30 pm
  • Tuesday, December 7 budget meeting with department heads will start at 6:00 pm
  • Retirement lunch for Keith Winebar will be held December 17 from 11-1pm @ TH3

Fiscal Officer Update by Denise Knecht:

  • Credit Card statements were not available yet, will be on agenda for 1st meeting in December

  • Went over completed wage & compensation study put together by Clemans Nelson; gathered data from 13 comparable communities
  • Recommendation to consider raising the wage for several positions to bring wages up to meet standard wage range scale
  • Adoption & implementation would be effective as of November 22, 2021

Discussion- ODOT Memorandum of Agreement:

  • Successful meet & greet luncheon with ODOT District 2 employees; chance for ODOT & Village to meet each other before they are passing each other on the streets in the middle of the night
  • This agreement provides salt & equipment storage for ODOT; and readily available salt for the Village to be invoiced by the State

 ORDINANCE 1087: This Ordinance will amend residency requirement for Police Chief set May 26, 1982 stating must be resident within 6 months of hire date and extend to August 1, 2022 for Chief Plotts.

  • Wallace asked Dawn to make contact with ODOT to repair 2 deep, large holes in front of the Valero gas station
  • Muehlfeld stated it is nice to see downtown store fronts decorated
  • Tom Karnes thanked the community for thoughts and prayers during the hardest time of his life; Bob extended to Karnes that thoughts and prayers will continue
  • Jason Gruver commended Dawn for the work and effort that she put in to the ODOT/Village employee luncheon
  • Mayor Day added that there will be a tree lighting with Santa Clause and Christmas caroling on November 27, 2021 from 6-8 pm
